Formally the Smiths Industries Sea Angling Club, the re-named Cheltenham Sea Angling and Casting Club held it's first meeting in December 1991. The CSACC is affiliated to the Bristol Channel Federation of Sea Anglers. Our aim is to promote fellowship among anglers, to arrange boat and beach trips for our members and to improve the casting ability of interested members, both on the beach and at tournament level. The club meets at 8pm on the 3rd Thursday of every
month at the village hall in Swindon Village, Cheltenham. Charter Boat Fishing Shore and Beach fishing We have several very experienced beach anglers in the club who are more than willing to arrange club competitions, subject to demand. The most popular venues are along the Bristol Channel coast of South Wales, but matches have been held on Chesil Beach. There is also opportunity to take part in pleasure fishing trips arranged by members and in competitions not run by the this club. Tournament Casting Our tournaments were first organized by Steve Penny in 1987
when we were still under the Smiths umbrella. These tournaments now attract
entrants from all over southern England and South Wales. A former pupil of Geoff's, Malcolm Greatrix, with a personal best cast of 278 yards now runs the tournaments. Malcolm has been running the tournaments since 1998 CSACC is a very active club, our members consisting mainly of anglers from the Cheltenham and Gloucester area. We also have members from Stratford on Avon, Worcester, Evesham and even South Devon. New members will always be made welcome at club meetings and events.
